Maharashtra's Sena vs Sena crisis: CM Eknath Shinde wins big after speaker Rahul Narwekar's verdict

In a big setback for the Uddhav Thackerary-led faction (UBT), Maharashtra assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar on Wednesday recognised the group led by chief minister Eknath Shinde as the "real Shiv Sena" and dismissed all the disqualification petitions filed against the 16 ruling MLAs. Narwekar, who was directed by the Supreme Court to decide on the disqualification pleas, also said that Sunil Prabhu of the Sena (UBT) ceased to be the whip from June 21, 2022, and Bharat Gogawale of the Shinde group became the authorized whip.
