In the ongoing volatile situation in the Middle East, following recent U.S. and UK attacks, Hezbollah launched a rocket barrage at Israel, specifically targeting the Mount Meron base located in northern Israel. The Iran-backed Lebanese terror group attributed this assault to the backdrop of recent assassinations and attacks on civilians in Lebanon and Syria. Notably, this marks the second time in recent weeks that Hezbollah has attacked the Mount Meron base. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the attack, reporting some damage to the base's infrastructure. Despite intercepting some projectiles with the Iron Dome, others hit the base, which is approximately 8 km from the Lebanon border. However, the IDF ensured the activation of backup systems to maintain the operation of the air traffic control base. It's noteworthy that the Air Force's detection capabilities remained unaffected despite the attack. This escalation of hostilities comes amid recent strikes in Lebanon and Syria targeting high-ranking figures from Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran. These events contribute to heightened tensions in the region, which is already grappling with ongoing conflicts. The situation is further exacerbated by the recent loss of 24 Israeli soldiers in Gaza, marking Israel's biggest one-day death toll.
