Kerala: Congress Mahila Morcha workers protest in Thiruvananthapuram against Vandiperiyar rape and murder case

Congress Mahila Morcha workers took out a protest march to Police headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on December 17. The protest was held against the acquittal of the accused in the Vandiperiyar rape and murder case.The case occurred in 2021 in Vandiperiyar of Idukki district. A six-year-old girl was first raped and then brutally murdered. She was staying along with her parents in a settlement hut of an estate in the Idukki district. Later police arrested the accused under charges of POCSO, rape and murder. After the verdict girl’s family alleged that they did not get justice.
