Ayodhya recently made history by setting a new Guinness World Record during its Deepotsav festival, where over 2.2 million earthen lamps illuminated the night in celebration of Diwali. This annual festival has been a tradition in Ayodhya for the past seven years, and each year it has broken its own records by lighting lakhs of diyas, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The incredible display of lights was made possible with the participation of approximately 25,000 dedicated volunteers. A team from the Guinness Book of World Records was present in Ayodhya to witness and verify this remarkable achievement. The earthen lamps were meticulously lit at 51 different locations throughout the city, adding to the grandeur of the event. In addition to the Guinness World Record, the Deepotsav was also a significant cultural and religious event. The ongoing construction of the Ayodhya Ram Temple was beautifully adorned for the occasion. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the 'Aarti' as part of the festivities. The Deepotsav tradition, initiated in 2017, has consistently broken records for the number of diyas lit each year, establishing itself as a symbol of India's rich heritage and traditions. The timing of this year's Deepotsav holds particular political significance, as it precedes the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir and is expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event is seen as a crucial moment in the political landscape, occurring just a few months before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It's an event that combines cultural grandeur, religious significance, and political importance in one spectacular celebration.Ayodhya Set New Guinness World Record with 24 Lakh Diyas at 51 Locations on Deepotsav
