People of J&K looking at SC with hope: Mehbooba Mufti on petition challenging abrogation of Art 370

Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti on August 17 spoke outside the Supreme Court over the hearing of Article 370. She said that the abrogation of Article 370 by the Government in 2019 was unconstitutional and unjust for the people of Jammu. She added that the whole of Jammu and Kashmir is looking at the SC with hopeful eyes and believe that it would provide justice to the people of J&K. “The Supreme Court should decide if it wants to be like God Krishna or like Dhritarashtra. If it wants to be Lord Krishna, then it would have to listen to our plea and help us by reinstating Article 370. If they don’t do that, then they would, like Dhritarashtra be blind to our needs and issues. I just want to say that the people of J&K are looking at the SC with hopeful eyes,” said Mehbooba Mufti.
