Despite being given an adult certificate by the censor board, Akshay Kumar starrer 'OMG 2' maintained a steady run at the box office and garnered appreciation from fans for its storyline. The movie churned out more than ₹135 crore in 17 days and became the fourth highest-grossing adult film of Bollywood after beating Riteish Deshmukh's 'Grand Masti'. The highest-grossing Bollywood film with adult certification is the 2019 film 'Kabir Singh', followed by 'The Kashmir Files' and 'The Kerala Story.' Notably, the Central Board Of Film Certification issued an ‘A’ (Adults only) certificate to 'OMG 2' and recommended no cuts, but made about 25 modifications in regards to scenes, dialogues, and characters. Even Akshay Kumar's character of Lord Shiva also got turned into the messenger of the god. Helmed by Amit Rai, 'OMG 2' is the sequel to the superhit satirical comedy 'OMG' starring Paresh Rawal and essentially talks about sex education in schools. Apart from Akshay, it also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Arun Govil, Govind Namdeo, and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. The film hit the screens on August 11 and faced a Box Office clash with Sunny Deol's blockbuster flick 'Gadar 2.' For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
