Assam’s Lakhimpur turns into ‘Venice’; Villages remain inundated for last six months

The flood situation grimed Assam’s Lakhimpur as several villages remain under floodwater for the last six months. The flood waters have submerged 67 villages under 4 revenue circles of the district. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), nearly 37,700 people were affected in the Nowboicha revenue circle area of the district and 22,510 people in the Bihpuria revenue circle. The villagers have been demanding a permanent solution to the flood situation.
