Anand Mohan Singh’s children thank Bihar Government for upcoming release of their father from jail

Anand Mohan Singh, a former MP of Rashtriya Janata Dal and a murder case convict, is out on 15-day parole for his son’s wedding. Singh will subsequently be released from jail after the Bihar government on April 24 tweaked the prison rules and allowing release of 27 convicts including him. His daughter, an advocate, Surbhi Anand thanked the Bihar Government and Supreme Court for the upcoming release of her father. While Anand Mohan’s son, also an RJD leader, Chetan Anand addressed the Opposition’s remarks alleging that RJD’s pressure on Bihar Government led to the change in prison rule. “I want to thank the state government. It was Patna High Court and Supreme Court’s decision to change the rule,” he said. Anand Mohan Singh is serving a life sentence in the 1994 murder of then Gopalganj District Magistrate G Krishnaiah.
